Taliban Representatives and Kuwait Discuss Consular Services for Afghans

Hafiz Omar, the head of the Taliban administration’s embassy in Oman, met with Mohammed Nasser Al-Hajri, Kuwait’s ambassador to Oman, to discuss providing standard consular services to Afghans residing in Kuwait.
According to a statement released by the Taliban embassy in Oman, the main focus of the meeting was on improving the process of consular services and addressing the needs of Afghan citizens in Kuwait. No further details about the practical outcomes of these discussions have been disclosed.
Meanwhile, Hafiz Omar expressed appreciation for Kuwait’s readiness to hand over the Afghan embassy to the Taliban administration. Since regaining control over Afghanistan, the Taliban have sought to assume control of Afghanistan’s diplomatic missions in several countries, despite not yet being officially recognized by many nations.
Kuwait is among the Arab countries that have hosted a significant number of Afghan migrants in recent years, with access to consular services being an important issue for this community.
