Egg Exports from Iran to Afghanistan on the Rise Amid Trade Route Shifts

Iranian media have reported an increase in egg exports from the Khorasan Razavi province of Iran to Afghanistan. According to sources, part of these exports, once they enter Afghanistan, are further transported to other markets including Qatar.

Based on these reports, growing demand in the region and changes in trade routes are cited as the main factors driving the rise in exports. Industry players say that the recent shifts in trading routes have played a significant role in expanding trade between Iran and Afghanistan.

Previous reports also indicated that after the closure of some trade routes between Afghanistan and Pakistan, imports of chicks and poultry-related products from Iran increased. The closure of these routes has compelled Afghan traders and importers to turn to alternative pathways to meet domestic market needs.

Afghanistan is considered an important market for Iran’s agricultural and livestock products, and changes in regional transit routes directly affect the prices and availability of these goods in the country’s domestic markets.
