Taliban Forces Pledge to Target Pakistani Troops Following Recent Attacks

Zabiullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Taliban administration, stated that in response to recent Pakistani attacks, Taliban forces will target Pakistani soldiers. He claimed that these Pakistani offensives have resulted in civilian casualties, including women and children.
In an interview with Tolo News, Mujahid said that although Pakistani forces had targeted civilian areas, the Taliban do not intend to target civilians and will focus on Pakistani military personnel. He added that Pakistan claimed its attacks were aimed at the Pakistan Taliban (TTP) strongholds, but according to him, the victims have been civilians.
The Taliban spokesperson also alleged that a “particular circle” in Pakistan, acting under instructions from “superpowers,” seeks to destabilize the region. He accused Pakistan’s military regime of invading Afghan territory under the pretext of fighting the TTP.
Mujahid emphasized that the internal security issues within Pakistan are a domestic matter and unrelated to Afghanistan. He further claimed that all transportation routes with Pakistan are currently closed, calling into question the possible crossing of TTP members over the “line of control” due to existing restrictions.
These remarks come amid ongoing tensions that have repeatedly led to border clashes and harm to residents of border areas. Despite the Taliban administration’s insistence on defending national sovereignty and security, the mounting rhetoric of threat may heighten worries about escalating instability in the region—an outcome that would primarily affect civilians on both sides of the border.
Mujahid stressed that the Taliban administration considers safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and security a “legal and national responsibility” and will respond to what it describes as illegal actions. He said the administration will not only respond but also intensify security measures and thwart the plans of “conspirators.”
