Pakistan Arrests 20 Afghan Nationals in Islamabad Amid Increased Immigration Operations

Pakistani media have reported that police in the country have detained 20 Afghan nationals in Islamabad over the past week. These arrests followed several inspection operations conducted across different parts of the Pakistani capital.

The newspaper ‘The Nation’ wrote on Monday, February 23, that these individuals were identified during eight separate operations before being transferred to detention centers. No further details have been released regarding their residency status or their future fate.

According to the report, Pakistani police have announced plans to carry out more operations targeting Afghan migrants. This comes amid a recent increase in the detention and deportation of Afghan migrants in several Pakistani cities, raising concerns among migrant families.
