Taliban Strongly Condemn Pakistan Airstrikes, Pledge Timely Retaliation

The Taliban’s Ministry of Defense has condemned recent Pakistani airstrikes on parts of Nangarhar and Paktika provinces, describing them as an “incursion by the Pakistani military regime” and promising to respond at an appropriate time. The ministry also reported that dozens of civilians were killed in these attacks.

In a statement released by the ministry, the attacks were called a clear violation of Afghanistan’s airspace and contrary to international laws, principles of good neighborliness, and Islamic values. The Taliban administration strongly denounced the incidents, labeling them as a “crime.”

The Taliban’s Ministry of Defense emphasized that protecting Afghanistan’s borders and ensuring the safety of its residents are its “legal and national” responsibilities and warned that the response to these attacks would be “calculated.” However, no details were provided regarding the timing or manner of the retaliation.

This comes after previous Pakistani attacks on Khost province, where Taliban officials likewise promised a timely response. Yet, no reports of concrete actions or results have emerged so far, raising questions about the Taliban administration’s capabilities and strategies in managing border tensions with Pakistan.
