Abdullah Condemns Pakistan’s Airstrikes on Afghanistan as Violation of Sovereignty

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, head of the High Council for National Reconciliation in the former government, condemned Pakistan’s airstrikes on parts of Nangarhar and Paktika provinces, calling them a violation of Afghanistan’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
On Sunday, February 21, in response to this incident, he stated that such actions lead to further instability and escalate the crisis in the country. According to him, bombing and targeting civilians are not solutions to the ongoing conflicts and only add to the suffering of the people.
Abdullah urged Pakistan and the Taliban to choose dialogue and negotiation over escalating conflict. He emphasized that reducing tensions and finding a political solution would benefit all parties and the people of the region.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Ministry of Information announced that last night it targeted seven positions belonging to Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan and ISIS within Afghan territory.
These attacks come as the Taliban administration repeatedly claims control over the entire country; however, the continuation of cross-border operations and violations of Afghanistan’s airspace raise questions about how national sovereignty and border security are being maintained.
