At Least 23 Buried Under Rubble in Nangarhar Airstrikes, Including Women and Children

Local sources have reported that at least 23 people have been buried under rubble following airstrikes in parts of Nangarhar, Paktika, and Khost provinces. According to these sources, the victims include women and children, and the total number of casualties remains unclear.

These attacks reportedly occurred around 1:00 AM on Sunday, February 20, targeting the districts of Bihsud and Khogyani in Nangarhar, as well as Bermal and Urgon districts in Paktika. Parts of Khost province were also hit, although further details are not yet available.

Sources emphasized that in Bihsud, a civilian’s home was targeted, resulting in 23 people being trapped under the rubble. Additionally, in Bermal district of Paktika, a mosque, a cattle farm, and a school were struck, raising concerns about the safety of civilians and public places.

The Taliban administration has confirmed the occurrence of these attacks in the mentioned provinces. The Taliban’s Ministry of Defense condemned the incident and warned that it will respond at an “appropriate time.”

Meanwhile, the Pakistani military announced that it targeted seven positions linked to the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and ISIS inside Afghanistan. This development has once again raised questions about the security of border areas and efforts to prevent the recurrence of such attacks.
