Renovation of 19 Schools Completed in Ghor Province

Officials from the Ghor Education Department announced that the reconstruction of 19 schools and three religious schools in the province has been completed during the current year. According to the department, repairs on two other schools are ongoing with about 40 percent progress.
Local Taliban administration officials in Ghor stated that the purpose of this initiative is to improve educational conditions across various areas of the province. They did not provide details about the project costs or the funding organizations.
Several teachers and students in Ghor have welcomed the rebuilding of these schools, noting that the completion of these projects will enhance educational opportunities in some areas. They believe that the lack of standard buildings in previous years was one of the major challenges facing the education sector.
However, education experts emphasize that renovating school buildings is only one aspect of the educational system’s needs. They warn that as long as restrictions on girls’ education at higher levels remain in place, fundamental challenges in the sector will persist. They call for the Taliban administration to take concrete action to ensure the right to education for all students, especially girls, throughout the country.
