Pakistan Army Accuses Taliban Administration of Failing to Prevent Attacks

The Pakistan Army’s Public Relations Office stated after a deadly clash in the city of Bannu that the Taliban administration has failed to prevent the use of Afghan territory to carry out attacks against Pakistan. The statement noted that “terrorists” once again utilized Afghan soil to target Pakistan.

The Pakistan Army also claimed that the attackers disrespected the sacred month of Ramadan by conducting the attack during this period, an act they said reflects a disconnect between these groups and Islamic values.

The statement emphasized that the counter-terrorism operation named “Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad” will continue with full force, and Pakistan will target militants regardless of their geographical location.

Pakistan has repeatedly accused the Taliban administration of neglecting to restrain militant groups based in Afghanistan. However, the Taliban have denied these allegations, describing the internal security issues within Pakistan as that country’s domestic matter—a stance that continues to draw serious criticism and questions regarding the Taliban’s accountability for regional security.
