Four Arrested for Drug Trafficking in Laghman Province

Officials from the Laghman Provincial Police Command have announced the arrest of four individuals on charges of buying, selling, and trafficking narcotics during separate operations conducted in the provincial capital and Alingar district.
According to a statement released by the authorities, these individuals were detained in the jurisdictions of Mehtarlam city and certain areas of Alingar district through special operations carried out by Taliban security forces.
Officials reported that the seized items from the detainees include 11 grams of methamphetamine, 13 grams of hashish, 12 tablets of ‘Ka’ and ‘Zakep’ drugs, 3 grams of heroin, and a set of smart mobile phones.
The Laghman Police Command added that the arrested individuals are currently undergoing preliminary investigations and will be referred to judicial and legal institutions upon completion of these inquiries. However, no further details have been provided by the Taliban administration regarding the transparency of the investigation process or guarantees of the suspects’ rights.
