54 Billion Afghani Residential Complex Planned for Kunduz Province

The Emirati Companies Directorate has announced the construction of a large residential complex valued at 54 billion Afghanis in Kunduz province. According to this directorate, the project will enter the implementation phase after receiving approval from the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing and completing the administrative procedures.
Based on the information provided, the complex will be built on approximately 150 jeribs of land within the jurisdiction of Kunduz city. Officials stated that the plan has been prepared according to international standards.
Kunduz is considered one of the important provinces in the northeast zone of the country and has consistently faced challenges in urban infrastructure and housing. However, the Taliban administration has yet to disclose details regarding funding sources, the method of distributing residential units, and the transparency oversight mechanism for this project—issues that have long been questioned by citizens and urban experts.
If implemented, this project is expected to transform the urban landscape of Kunduz; however, its success will depend on transparent execution, adherence to technical standards, and equitable access to residential units for residents.
