Pakistani Sources Identify Bajaur Attack Perpetrator as Taliban Special Forces Member

Pakistani security sources have confirmed that the perpetrator of the recent suicide attack in the Bajaur region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was a member of the Taliban’s special forces. The attack resulted in the deaths of at least 11 Pakistani soldiers.
According to these sources, the attacker targeted a Pakistani border forces post in Bajaur, located along the border with Afghanistan, on Monday of this week using a vehicle loaded with explosives.
The Pakistan-based think tank, The StratCom Bureau, identified the individual as Syed Ahmad, also known as Qari Abdullah Abu Zar, describing him as an Afghan national.
Bajaur is considered a sensitive area along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border and has witnessed numerous security incidents over recent years. Despite repeated Taliban commitments to prevent the use of Afghan territory against neighboring countries, ongoing reports of Taliban members’ presence and activities in cross-border attacks have raised serious questions about the extent of the Taliban administration’s control and accountability.
