Kim Jong Un Unveils New Nuclear-Capable Multiple Rocket Launcher in Pyongyang

Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, unveiled a new multiple rocket launcher capable of carrying nuclear warheads during a ceremony in Pyongyang on Thursday, describing it as one of the world’s most powerful weapons. This unveiling came ahead of a significant congress of the ruling party in the country.
According to a CNN report, the North Korean leader personally took control of a mobile rocket launcher at the event. Released images show him activating the system amid a crowd of thousands waving small national flags.
North Korea’s state news agency KCNA also reported that the rocket launcher vehicle was symbolically stationed at the venue of the party congress and, according to the agency, represents the country’s “military power.”
Kim Jong Un stated that the 600-millimeter rockets of this system, which he claimed are twice the size of those in many existing multiple launch systems, match the capabilities of short-range ballistic missiles. In recent years, North Korea has expanded its weapons programs, frequently announcing tests of new military systems.
