Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor: Peace in Afghanistan Benefits Pakistan and the Region

Faisal Karim Kundi, the Governor of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, stated that establishing peace in Afghanistan would benefit both Pakistan and the entire region, emphasizing that his country seeks good relations and increased trade with Afghanistan.
He made these remarks during a meeting at the University of Peshawar, adding that Pakistan’s political leadership has the ability to resolve existing issues with Afghanistan as well as the country’s internal challenges. He stressed that instead of merely highlighting problems, practical solutions should be sought.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor also highlighted that political and economic cooperation can pave the way for reducing tensions and improving security conditions.
These statements come amid previous remarks by several Khyber Pakhtunkhwa leaders attributing current security problems in Pakistan to the country’s past flawed policies. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa shares a border with Afghanistan, where security and political developments on both sides directly impact the province’s situation.
