Aid Distribution Begins for 1,200 Returning Families in Bamyan

Local officials in Bamyan have announced the commencement of distributing wheat and cash assistance to 1,200 families returning from neighboring countries. According to them, these aids are intended to urgently address the immediate needs of families who have recently returned to the country.

Based on the information provided, a special committee has been appointed to oversee the permanent housing situation of these families. Officials have stated that they plan to start distributing land to a large number of returning families next year, a move that, if realized, could alleviate some of the housing problems.

Meanwhile, local Taliban administration officials in Bamyan have announced plans to build a second settlement to provide permanent shelter for returnees. Bamyan, located in the central part of the country, has hosted many returning families in recent years.

However, some returnees say that the lack of permanent shelter and shortage of job opportunities remain serious challenges for them. They stress that short-term aid is insufficient and that the Taliban administration must present a clear and practical plan to create sustainable employment and housing. Otherwise, the risk of increased poverty and homelessness among these families will persist.
