Over 7,500 Carats of Panjshir Emeralds Sold to Domestic Traders

The Panjshir Department of Mines and Petroleum has announced the sale of 7,513 carats of freshly extracted emeralds from the province’s mines. According to local officials, this amount of emeralds generated more than 6.7 million Afghanis in revenue.

Mohammad Qasim Amiri, head of Panjshir’s Mines and Petroleum Department, told the media that these emeralds were sold to domestic traders. He did not provide further details about the sales process or the timing of the sale.

Panjshir is one of Afghanistan’s provinces renowned for its emerald mines, and the precious stones extracted from this area are typically traded at high value in both domestic and international markets.
