Electronic Work Permit Distribution Begins in Herat

The Department of Labor and Social Affairs in Herat has announced the launch of an electronic work permit distribution system for both local and foreign citizens in the province. Officials state that with the implementation of this system, applicants can submit their requests online and digitally track all stages of the review and issuance process.

Hafiz Mirza Mohammad Abu Mansour, head of the department, said the initiative aims to simplify administrative services, reduce in-person visits, prevent overcrowding, and expedite the review of applications. According to him, the measure is also intended to increase transparency in the delivery of government services.

According to the information provided, applicants can now register their personal details in the system, upload the required documents, monitor the status of their applications, and receive the final response online. Officials emphasize that this system has standardized and accelerated the permit issuance process.

The launch of this process comes amid growing demand in recent years for the digitization of services in departments under Taliban control, as citizens have repeatedly complained about complexities, delays, and lack of transparency in some administrative procedures. Experts believe the success of such programs depends on widespread internet access, effective oversight, and accountability of responsible institutions.
