An $8 Million Salt Production Factory Opens in Balkh Province

Local officials in Balkh have announced the inauguration of a modern salt production factory in Mazar-i-Sharif, the provincial capital, funded by an $8 million investment from a private investor. According to local Taliban administration officials in Balkh, the factory was established to boost domestic production and strengthen the industrial sector, and it is expected to play a key role in supplying the market with the necessary salt. Officials also noted that industrial activities in the province have expanded in recent years, with ongoing efforts to provide more facilities for the establishment and development of production factories. However, some economic activists consistently emphasize that creating a secure and stable environment for investment, ensuring transparency in processes, and practical support for the private sector are essential factors for the sustainability and growth of such projects in the country.
