Cardiac Sciences Institute Set to Open Soon at Sardar Dawood Khan Hospital in Kabul

The Cardiac Sciences Institute within the 400-bed Martyr Sardar Mohammad Dawood Khan Hospital in Kabul is set to open soon. This center aims to encompass all departments related to heart diseases and will provide diagnostic, treatment, and specialized training services.

According to released information, the institute has been constructed by the Taliban’s Ministry of National Defense at a cost of 200 million Afghanis and is now nearing completion. It is reported that advanced medical equipment has been installed, and both domestic and international specialists will work in various cardiovascular fields.

Officials have stated that the purpose of establishing this center is to enhance the capacity for treating heart diseases and to provide professional training opportunities for doctors. Heart diseases are among the most common illnesses in the country, and the lack of specialized centers has been a significant challenge in this field.

However, no details have yet been provided regarding how citizens will access the institute’s services, the costs of patient treatment, or transparent mechanisms for overseeing the spent budget—issues that are fundamentally important for patients and their families.
