Thousands of Afghans Return Daily from Torkham Amid Reports of Forced Repatriation

Local sources in Nangarhar province report that daily, several hundred to several thousand Afghans enter the country through the Torkham border crossing. These individuals, mostly returning from Pakistan, claim their return has been accompanied by pressure and coercion.
Some returnees have stated that they were subjected to harassment by Pakistani security forces. They say their homes were demolished and they were forced to leave their residences without sufficient notice.
Referring to the difficult living conditions, these individuals have called on the Taliban administration to facilitate immediate aid, create job opportunities, and provide shelter for returnees. They emphasize that without practical support, reintegration into society will face serious challenges.
The Torkham crossing in eastern Afghanistan is one of the key transit routes between Afghanistan and Pakistan and has recently become one of the main points for the forced return of Afghan migrants.
