WFP Supports 445,000 Afghans Towards Greater Livelihood Stability

The World Food Programme (WFP) announced that last year, 445,000 people in Afghanistan moved closer to more stable livelihood and food security conditions through the support of its long-term programs.
The agency stated that its sustainable initiatives in Afghanistan focus on strengthening family income sources, improving access to food, and enhancing nutritional status. According to the WFP, such measures can empower local communities to better withstand economic and natural crises.
Afghanistan has faced extensive economic and humanitarian challenges in recent years, with a large portion of the population struggling with food insecurity. International aid organizations have repeatedly emphasized that investing in sustainable livelihood projects is a fundamental solution to reduce dependency on emergency assistance.
The World Food Programme is one of the largest aid organizations working on food security in Afghanistan, with operations covering various regions of the country.
