Taliban Reports Killing Four Armed Individuals in Sheberghan

The Taliban’s provincial office in Jawzjan has announced that four armed individuals were killed in the village of Jalalabad, located in the first security district of Sheberghan city. According to the statement, these individuals were involved in a robbery at a residential home on the evening of Sunday, February 15, and engaged in a clash with Taliban forces, resulting in their deaths.

The announcement stated that the individuals had stolen cash and jewelry from a family. The Taliban administration added that the bodies of the deceased were transferred to the Jawzjan provincial hospital.

However, no independent details about the identities of these individuals or the exact circumstances of the incident have been released, and neutral sources have not yet verified these claims. The Taliban has previously labeled various individuals, especially former military personnel and opponents, as “thieves” or “affiliated with opposing fronts” and announced their deaths, raising serious concerns about the transparency of security operations and adherence to legal standards.

Meanwhile, the Taliban continue to claim they provide “comprehensive security,” but increasing poverty and hunger in many parts of the country have left numerous residents in difficult living conditions. Some local sources report that in Jawzjan and Faryab provinces, former military figures associated with Marshal Abdul Rashid Dostum, the former vice president, have also been targeted with various accusations—claims that require clear and independent investigation.
