Protest Continues in Pakistan Parliament Demanding Immediate Hospital Transfer for Imran Khan

Protest by members of Pakistan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party and allied parties inside the country’s parliament building entered its second day today. The demonstrators have stressed that they will continue their protest until the official transfer of Imran Khan, the imprisoned leader of their party, to Al-Shifa Hospital.

Mahmood Khan Achakzai stated that Imran Khan’s condition requires urgent medical attention and that he must be transferred to the hospital as soon as possible. He called on the responsible authorities to take immediate action in this regard.

Meanwhile, Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, Deputy of the Pakistan Constitutional Protection Movement, said that police prevented him from entering the parliament premises. He sharply criticized the government’s behavior, claiming that the parliament gates have been closed and that even delivering food to the detained leaders is not being allowed.

These events come as Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, experiences intense political tension. On one hand, security forces have blocked areas surrounding the parliament, while on the other hand, opposition leaders under the umbrella of the Pakistan Constitutional Protection Movement emphasize continuing the struggle to safeguard the constitution and the rights of detainees.
