Israeli Settlers Cross into Lebanese Territory, Sparking Tensions

Israel’s Channel 12 TV reported that dozens of Israeli settlers crossed the border fence between Lebanon and Israeli-controlled territory and entered Lebanese soil. According to the report, these individuals went to the Yarin area in southern Lebanon.

The report further stated that the settlers demanded the establishment of Israeli settlements inside Lebanese territory, a move that could escalate tensions along the shared borders.

Melhem Khalaf, a Lebanese parliament member, reacted to the incident by calling it the “height of audacity.” He emphasized that Lebanon is not a place for settlement projects and that the country’s sovereignty is a red line.

The Yarin area, located in southern Lebanon near the border, has witnessed security tensions between the two sides in past years. Lebanese officials have not released further details about the incident so far.
