Fazlur Rahman: US Rejects China and Russia’s Investments in Afghanistan, May Use Pakistan as Proxy

Maulana Fazlur Rahman, leader of Pakistan’s Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, stated that the United States does not accept Chinese and Russian investments in Afghanistan and may use Pakistan as a proxy force to prevent them. He made these remarks during a press conference on Friday.
According to him, economic developments and the presence of regional investors in Afghanistan could fuel geopolitical competition among major powers. Fazlur Rahman warned that involving Pakistan in such calculations would have negative consequences for regional stability.
The Pakistani politician further emphasized that Pakistan currently does not have good relations with any of its neighboring countries, a situation that is no longer acceptable to the people of Pakistan. He added that continuing this approach challenges Pakistan’s national interests.
Fazlur Rahman called for a revision of Pakistan’s foreign policy, stating that Islamabad should adopt a balanced and constructive approach towards all its neighbors, including Afghanistan, to pave the way for economic and political cooperation.
