48 Tons of Substandard Cement Returned from Hairatan Port to Uzbekistan

The National Directorate of Standards and Quality under the Taliban administration has announced that two shipments of cement, totaling 48 tons, were returned from Hairatan port to Uzbekistan due to failing to meet the required standards.

On Saturday, the Directorate issued a statement on X network confirming that these shipments underwent technical inspections and quality control assessments. However, because they did not comply with the established criteria, they were denied entry into the domestic market.

According to the agency, the quality control process for imported goods at all country ports continues transparently, systematically, and rigorously, with no compromise allowed against the entry of low-quality or harmful materials that could threaten public health.

The National Directorate of Standards has urged merchants and importers to consider domestic standards before bringing goods into the country and to cooperate in supplying safe and high-quality products to the market. Hairatan port in Balkh province is considered one of the country’s most important commercial gateways to Central Asia.
