WFP Launches Long-Term Food Security Programs in Four Eastern Afghan Provinces

The World Food Programme (WFP) has announced the implementation of long-term resilience and livelihood initiatives in four provinces of eastern Afghanistan. According to the organization, these efforts aim to provide sustainable support to families in need.
WFP officials state that the programs help families revive their agricultural lands, rebuild income sources, and create conditions for future economic stability. These initiatives are part of broader efforts to reduce the vulnerability of local communities to economic and natural crises.
The eastern zone of Afghanistan includes provinces where a large portion of the population relies on farming and livestock, sectors that have faced serious economic challenges in recent years. Experts believe that long-term livelihood programs, alongside immediate humanitarian aid, can play a critical role in improving the economic situation of families.
The regional director of the World Food Programme shared more details about the process and objectives of these projects in a video message.
