Two Drinking Water Projects Launched for Hundreds of Families in Kandahar

The Red Cross Committee has announced the initiation of two drinking water supply projects in Kandahar city. Upon completion, 850 families in the city’s 9th district will gain access to clean water through a piped network.
According to released information, these families currently live in an area without any reliable source of drinking water, forcing residents to face serious difficulties in obtaining water.
Project implementers stated that the goal of the initiative is to provide sustainable access to safe water and to reduce the hardships faced by local residents. The shortage of drinking water in several urban areas of Kandahar is a major challenge that directly affects the health conditions of families.
Kandahar is located in southern Afghanistan, where some districts suffer from a lack of basic infrastructure and face shortages of essential services, including drinking water.
