370 Families Gain Access to New Water Supply Network in Qaisar, Faryab

The Department of Rural Rehabilitation and Development in Faryab province announced the completion and commissioning of a water supply project in the Qaisar district, benefiting 370 families across several villages.
Mawlawi Alaw-ud-Din Haqparast, head of the department, stated that the project involved drilling a 65-meter-deep well, constructing two water reservoirs with a total capacity of 60 cubic meters, installing 28 units of 600-watt solar panels, setting up water pumps and controllers, and building 133 house-to-house water taps.
He added that the total length of the water supply network covers 22.2 kilometers and serves the Tamchi Tandzi, Momandaan, Chabaki, and Nozi areas in Qaisar district. Residents of these villages had previously faced shortages of safe drinking water.
The project was implemented in cooperation with the NRC (Norwegian Refugee Council) at a cost exceeding 89,000 US dollars. In recent years, the lack of access to safe drinking water has been a serious challenge for several districts in Faryab. Citizens are now urging the Taliban administration to adopt more sustainable and transparent programs for managing water resources in remote areas.
