UN-Habitat Collaborates Closely with Communities in Afghanistan to Address Local Needs
The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) has announced that it is working closely with local communities in Afghanistan to gain a direct understanding of residents’ real needs.
According to the organization, dialogue and direct participation of people in the needs assessment process form an essential part of UN-Habitat’s working approach; a method based on listening to the perspectives and experiences of communities across various regions.
UN-Habitat emphasizes that this participatory approach enables the design and implementation of programs tailored to the living conditions of individuals in vulnerable situations.
The international agency added that focusing on local needs and the specific circumstances of each community can enhance the effectiveness of humanitarian and development interventions in Afghanistan.
