Taliban’s Minister of Information and Culture Visits Mes Aynak Archaeological Site in Logar

Sheikh Shir Ahmad Haqqani, the Taliban’s Minister of Information and Culture, visited the archaeological sites, historic springs, and the Mes Aynak museum in Logar province. He described the area as one of the most important historical heritages of the country.
According to him, Mes Aynak holds a special place in Afghanistan’s history, with existing evidence indicating that this region was a center of culture, civilization, and human interactions during various periods.
During the visit, the Minister of Information and Culture instructed engineers and project officials to strictly adhere to the principles of preserving cultural and historical heritage in the process of excavation and copper extraction.
This comes as officials from the Taliban’s Ministry of Information and Culture have repeatedly emphasized their commitment to the protection and preservation of historical artifacts. This issue has been a continuous concern and demand by cultural experts and archaeologists, especially considering the ongoing mining activities in Mes Aynak.
