Rural Road in Nurgal, Kunar Reconstructed Following Earthquake

Following an earthquake in Nurgal district of Kunar province, a vital rural road was damaged, cutting off access for several villages to health services and marketplaces.

According to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Afghanistan, the road has been reconstructed with financial support from the South Korean delegation as part of the REVIVE project.

During this initiative, 15 kilometers of rural road and three culverts were repaired to restore transportation for residents and the movement of goods.

Local residents say that restoring this road plays a crucial role in accessing medical centers and daily trade, helping to mitigate some of the earthquake’s impacts.
