New Satellite Data Agreement Signed to Monitor Development Projects

Hamdullah Mohib announced the signing of a new agreement aimed at using satellite data to monitor development projects in various regions. According to him, this contract enables real-time monitoring of project progress, risks, and impacts.
Mohib made these remarks during a speech at the Global Government Summit, stating that the agreement was signed with the Abu Dhabi Development Fund. Under this deal, satellite imagery and earth observation systems will be used for independent evaluation of development projects.
He believes this approach represents a significant shift in the management of development projects worldwide; a change that moves away from relying solely on written reports and field assessments, allowing decision-makers to review project progress with independent data, thereby enhancing transparency and accountability.
Experts say that for countries facing war, institutional weakness, or limited area access, especially Afghanistan, the use of such technologies can play a crucial role in ensuring the effective use of development resources and achieving tangible project outcomes.
