Islamic Group in Lebanon Claims Israeli Forces Kidnapped Official in Southern Border Raid

Lebanon’s Islamic Group has reported that Israeli military forces abducted one of the group’s officials during a ground incursion into the Al-Habbariyeh area in southern Lebanon. The group described the incident as a blatant violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty.

According to the organization’s statement, the kidnapping took place after Israeli forces entered the residential areas of Al-Habbariyeh, escalating concerns among local residents. The Islamic Group warned that the attacking party would bear responsibility for any harm to the abducted individual.

The group raised a critical question, suggesting the action might be in response to the recent visit of the Lebanese Prime Minister to the southern regions of the country. The Islamic Group indicated that such operations might be aimed at forcing southern Lebanese residents to abandon their homes.

Furthermore, the Islamic Group called on the Lebanese government to utilize political and diplomatic channels to pressure relevant parties to prevent further violations of this nature. Meanwhile, the Israeli army confirmed the abduction of the official.

The Islamic Group of Lebanon is an active political organization inspired by the Muslim Brotherhood ideology. Its military wing, known as the “Al-Fajr Forces,” has previously carried out several operations against the Israeli regime.
