Former Afghan Soldier Killed in Tehran, Motives Unclear

Informed sources have told Amaaj News that a former Afghan soldier named Rahimullah Mujahid was killed in Tehran by unidentified assailants. The exact details regarding the time and manner of his death remain unclear.
According to these sources, Rahimullah Mujahid left Afghanistan after the Taliban took power and the republic system collapsed, migrating to Iran. Like many former soldiers, he was forced to flee under unsafe and uncertain conditions.
The sources added that during the republic era, Rahimullah Mujahid served militarily for several years in Badghis province and was a member of Afghanistan’s former security forces.
So far, officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran have not issued any official statement about this incident, and the motive behind the killing as well as the identity of the perpetrators remain unknown. This event once again highlights concerns regarding the security and legal status of former Afghan soldiers in host countries—individuals who, after the Taliban’s takeover, face various threats without clear protection or guarantees.
