Russian Ambassador Claims Swedish Military Aid to Ukraine Reaches $9 Billion

Russia’s ambassador to Sweden has stated that since the start of the war in Ukraine, Stockholm has sent a total of $9 billion in military aid to the country. According to him, this figure includes equipment and defensive support.
Sergei Belayev, speaking to the RIA Novosti news agency, said that this aid has been continuously provided to Ukraine since the beginning of what Moscow calls a “special military operation,” playing a significant role in military support for Kyiv.
The Russian diplomat also said that Sweden plans to allocate about $8 billion more in 2026 and 2027 for purchasing weapons, financing defense industries, and other forms of assistance to Ukraine.
Meanwhile, despite several rounds of talks between Moscow and Kyiv, the war continues, with territorial disputes being the main obstacle to progress in negotiations. Both sides are striving to maintain and expand their controlled areas to gain the upper hand both on the battlefield and in the negotiation process.
