Russia Shoots Down 22 Ukrainian Drones in Multiple Regions

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 22 Ukrainian drones last night over various areas. According to the statement, these drones were detected flying over parts of Russian territory as well as the Black Sea region.

Russian media reported that the operation took place in areas including Bryansk and Kaluga, where Russian air defenses successfully prevented the drones from continuing their flight. Russian officials did not provide further details on the extent of damage or the potential targets of these drones.

This event occurs amid ongoing conflict between Moscow and Kyiv, despite several rounds of negotiations. Territorial disputes remain one of the main obstacles to reaching a political agreement between the two sides.

Meanwhile, both parties are striving to maintain or expand control over their territories, aiming to strengthen their positions both on the battlefield and in negotiation processes. This approach has caused military developments to directly influence the diplomatic dialogue atmosphere.

Previously, Matthew Vitaker, the US permanent representative to NATO, stated that Washington expects the territorial disputes between Russia and Ukraine to be resolved within days or weeks. He also mentioned ongoing work on several final documents as part of the negotiations.

According to the American official, these documents include a 20-point peace plan, a set of multilateral security guarantees, specific security assurances from the US, and a program for economic growth and prosperity following the establishment of peace.
