Iranian Consul General Meets Nangarhar Governor to Discuss Health and Agricultural Cooperation

Majid Rezapour, the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Jalalabad, met with Mohammad Naeem Akhund, the governor of Nangarhar province, to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in the fields of health, agriculture, and trade. According to a press release, the meeting focused on training two doctors to treat cancer and establishing an online training program for doctors at the Diabetes Control Hospital. These initiatives aim to enhance the capacity of health personnel in Nangarhar.

Additionally, both parties discussed the creation of greenhouses in Nangarhar, exchanging experiences between cities, and facilitating conditions for traders across various sectors. These topics were presented as part of broader efforts to strengthen economic and developmental cooperation.

This meeting took place amid the Taliban’s administration in Nangarhar emphasizing continued regional relations and interactions as part of local governance. However, no specific details or timelines for the implementation of these projects have been announced.
