Trump Describes US-Iran Indirect Talks in Muscat as ‘Good’

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has described the indirect talks between Washington and Tehran held in Muscat, the capital of Oman, as positive. He stated that the discussions have progressed in a way that suggests the Iranian side is seeking to reach an agreement.
Trump told the media that the US and Iran would likely meet again next week, adding that there is “enough time” to reach a deal. He did not provide further details regarding the topics discussed.
Alongside his optimistic remarks, the US president once again highlighted the military presence of the United States in the region, noting that a large naval fleet is on its way to the Middle East. These comments contrasted with the tone of the ongoing negotiations.
This round of indirect talks took place on Friday in Oman. After the discussions ended, Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister, stated that the start of the talks was positive, but their continuation depends on consultations in the respective capitals.
