Taliban Affiliate Claims ISIS Command Center Is Based in Pakistan

Saeed Khosti, affiliated with the Taliban administration, has strongly criticized Pakistan’s security and intelligence agencies in response to the recent suicide attack in Islamabad. He claimed that the ISIS command and control center operates within Pakistan.

Khosti stated that despite the attack occurring in the heart of Pakistan’s capital, the country’s security agencies appeared “paralyzed” at the moment of the incident. However, unexpectedly, within just one hour after the event, the identity of the attacker and all details of the attack were made public.

He explicitly asserted that the ISIS command and control center is located in Pakistan and questioned why the group always targets civilians and religious sites but has never attacked any military targets inside Pakistan.

These remarks came after ISIS took responsibility for the suicide attack on a Shia religious center in Islamabad, a strike that, according to sources, killed and wounded over 200 people.

However, critics note that in recent years the Taliban administration has repeatedly attributed ISIS’s activities and organization to outside Afghanistan without presenting clear evidence. Making such serious accusations while the Taliban itself is accused of being unable to contain the ISIS threat within Afghanistan raises serious questions about the administration’s accountability and transparency in ensuring regional security.
