Construction Begins on New Road in Jalalabad’s Sixth District

The General Directorate of Municipal Affairs has announced the official commencement of construction on a new road in the Sixth District of Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar province. The project is valued at 25 million Afghanis and is set to be funded from Jalalabad municipality’s internal revenue budget.

According to the directorate, the road project will be implemented in the first and second alleys of the Sixth District. Its aim is to improve urban traffic flow and provide better access for residents of these areas.

Officials say the road will be 1,350 meters long and 20 meters wide, with construction expected to be completed by the end of the current year.

Meanwhile, Taliban authorities claim that increased internal revenue collection has enabled the execution of several urban and infrastructure projects across various parts of the country. This claim has been made before by the administration; however, transparency and the use of these revenues have consistently been subjects of concern among citizens.
