Balochistan Representative Condemns Discrimination and Insecurity in the Province

Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch, a member of the Balochistan Provincial Assembly in Pakistan, has openly criticized the current situation in the province, questioning the performance of security agencies and the central government’s approach. He stated that while every incident of insecurity in Balochistan is immediately attributed to India, such persistent violence and insecurity are not seen in the Punjab province. According to him, this disparity reveals a double standard in dealing with different provinces. The Balochistan representative added that on average, about 25 people are killed each month in the province, despite billions of rupees being allocated to security forces; yet the lives, property, and dignity of residents remain unprotected. Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman sarcastically remarked that although Balochistan is a part of Pakistan, it is treated like a “mere” (subject or lesser entity). He emphasized that he will not remain silent in the face of this injustice and inequality.
