Taliban and Turkmenistan Consuls Meet in Mashhad to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Noor Mohammad Muttawakil, the Taliban’s Consul General in Mashhad, met and held talks with Guvanch Murad Ozmohammedovich Ataev, the Consul General of Turkmenistan. According to released information, the main focus of the meeting was a review of the bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan, emphasizing the continuation of diplomatic interactions based on mutual interests. Both parties recalled the history of good relations between the two countries and focused on the necessity to expand economic cooperation, identifying infrastructure as a significant and developable sector. Turkmenistan, one of Afghanistan’s northern neighbors, has engaged in various collaborative efforts over recent years in transit, energy, and infrastructure projects with Afghanistan.
