Kabul Medical University Approves Establishment of Prophetic and Traditional Medicine Faculty

The Ministry of Higher Education announced that, based on the decree of Sheikh Hibatullah Akhundzada, leader of the Taliban administration, the establishment of the Faculty of “Prophetic and Traditional Medicine” under the umbrella of Kabul Medical University has been finalized, and its organizational structure has been approved.
According to the ministry, with the issuance of this decree, the administrative and educational structure of the newly established faculty has also been approved, allowing its activities to commence within the framework of Kabul Medical University.
Kabul Medical University is considered one of the main institutions for health sciences education in the country, and the creation of new faculties and programs there always has significant impacts on the educational and health systems.
Meanwhile, a number of educational experts emphasize that any changes in the higher education structure must align with scientific standards, community health needs, and modern educational principles—a subject that has repeatedly been a matter of debate and concern during the Taliban’s administration.
