WFP Continues Food Aid Distribution Amid Harsh Winter in Baghlan

The World Food Programme (WFP) says that as winter cold intensifies in Baghlan province, the delivery of food aid to needy families continues. According to the agency, heavy snowfall and cold weather have made access to many areas difficult, but WFP teams have managed to deliver food assistance to 12,900 families facing one of the toughest seasons of the year. Baghlan, a northern province of Afghanistan, experiences restricted movement in several districts during winter due to geographical and climatic conditions, making vulnerable families more susceptible to food shortages. The World Food Programme emphasized that these aid efforts are part of its winter response in Afghanistan, aiming to alleviate the economic pressure on families whose daily lives are severely challenged by intense cold and poverty.
