Kandahar’s Chick Production Rises to Two Million per Month

The Agriculture Department of the Taliban in Kandahar has announced that chick production factories in the province produce nearly two million chicks monthly, covering about 70 percent of the demand from Kandahar’s poultry farms, with some also sent to other provinces.

Mohammad Hanif Haqmal, the press officer for Kandahar’s Agriculture Department, stated that last year, chick production met less than 20 percent of market demand, but over the past year, this sector has seen significant growth and has played a more substantial role in meeting domestic needs.

According to officials at the chick production factories in Kandahar, if the Taliban administration provides more facilities, it will create opportunities to increase investment and expand activities in this sector. They emphasize that developing this sector could strengthen domestic production and reduce farms’ reliance on external sources.
