India Denies Pakistan’s Accusations Over Balochistan Unrest

India’s Ministry of External Affairs has dismissed recent allegations made by Pakistani officials, rejecting any claims of New Delhi’s involvement in the unrest in Balochistan and calling these accusations baseless.
Randeep Jaiswal, spokesperson for the ministry, told the media on Sunday, January 31, that making such claims after every violent incident is an attempt to divert public attention from Pakistan’s internal issues and failures. He emphasized that Islamabad should address the longstanding demands and challenges of its own people instead of repeating these accusations.
This response came after coordinated attacks on Saturday, January 30, in the province of Balochistan, which left 15 Pakistani soldiers and 18 civilians dead. The separatist group known as the “Baloch Liberation Army” claimed responsibility for the attacks.
However, Pakistani officials accused India of supporting this group and alleged that New Delhi backs terrorism in Pakistan. The Indian foreign ministry spokesperson countered by stating that Pakistan’s record on repression, violence, and human rights violations is well known to the international community, and such accusations cannot obscure the facts.
