Afghanistan’s Cotton Exports Rise, Gain Stronger Presence in Global Markets

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has announced that Afghanistan’s cotton exports have increased this year, allowing the product to secure a better position in international markets.
According to officials from the ministry, more than 100,000 metric tons of cotton, valued at 86 million US dollars, have been exported from Afghanistan. This volume of exports reflects a sustained demand for Afghan cotton in foreign markets.
The information provided indicates that countries such as India, China, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and Australia are among the primary destinations for Afghan cotton. Additionally, several other markets have also received this product.
Cotton is considered one of Afghanistan’s important agricultural and industrial products, and the increase in its exports could positively impact the income of farmers, industry and trade sectors, and contribute to strengthening the country’s economy.
