Trump Calls for Obama’s Arrest Amid Minneapolis Incident Fallout

Donald Trump, the current President of the United States, called for the arrest of Barack Obama in response to critical remarks made by several former U.S. presidents regarding recent events in Minneapolis. This demand was made through controversial posts on the social media platform Truth Social.
These reactions followed an incident in which immigration agents from the Trump administration fatally shot Alex Pearth during an operation in Minneapolis. The event sparked widespread public protests and political criticism. A handful of former U.S. presidents, who typically refrain from commenting on day-to-day matters, broke their silence over this incident.
Former President Bill Clinton issued a statement warning that the United States is at one of its most pivotal historical moments, emphasizing that current decisions could impact the nation’s long-standing freedoms for years to come. He stressed that losing these freedoms could be irreversible.
Joe Biden also released a separate message expressing appreciation for the protests by Minnesota residents against the federal government’s stringent immigration policies, stating that these demonstrations reflect the core values of American society.
Barack and Michelle Obama responded to the deadly violence with a written statement asserting that the incident should serve as a wake-up call for all Americans, regardless of political affiliation, since they believe fundamental national values are increasingly under threat.
The Obamas further criticized what they termed the “unprecedented tactics” of the Department of Homeland Security and said the presence of masked immigration and customs enforcement agents in cities fosters fear and insecurity among residents.
In contrast, Trump, without directly addressing the content of these criticisms, amplified messages on social media accusing Barack Obama of treason and spreading unverified claims about the role of various institutions and countries in U.S. political developments. In one post, he explicitly called for Obama’s arrest, a move that has sparked widespread backlash and renewed criticism of the U.S. president’s political conduct and rhetoric.
