Saudi Arabia Allocates 30,000 Hajj Quotas for Afghan Pilgrims in 1405 AH

The Taliban’s Ministry of Guidance, Hajj, and Religious Endowments has announced that Saudi Arabia has allocated a quota of 30,000 Afghan pilgrims for the Hajj season of 1405 AH. This announcement comes amidst officials stating that Saudi Arabia has also promised to increase this quota in the coming years.
Sheikh Noor Muhammad Saqib, the head of the ministry, said in a Thursday press conference in Kabul that the quota was secured following persistent discussions and negotiations with the Saudi side, and that the possibility of increasing it in subsequent years is being considered.
According to him, the cost determined for each pilgrim this year is 266,400 Afghanis. He emphasized that this amount was calculated based on the primary expenses of the Hajj.
Officials from the Ministry of Guidance, Hajj, and Religious Endowments also assured that contracts concerning accommodation, food, transportation, and other necessary services for the pilgrims have been finalized on time, and all preparations for sending pilgrims are ready.
